How much does a fishing charter cost in Seattle?

Per-person rates start at $250 for most trips. Private boat charters are available at a flat rate starting at $1,100 for Puget Sound trips, $1,500 for river trips, and $1,250 for Westport offshore trips.

How do I book a fishing charter?

What is the cancellation policy?

Trips cancelled due to weather or unsafe conditions are rescheduled at no charge. For personal cancellations within 7 days of the scheduled trip, the full cost is charged if the day cannot be rebooked.

How far in advance should I book?

Popular dates, especially in the summer, fill up quickly. We recommend booking at least 2+ weeks in advance.

Are fishing charters private or shared?

Per-person bookings are shared charters — the boat holds up to 6 passengers and requires a minimum of 3 to run. You can also reserve the entire boat as a private charter.

What to Expect

Do I need fishing experience to book a charter?

No experience is needed. CNH Sportfishing Charters welcomes beginners, families with kids, and experienced anglers. Full instruction is provided throughout every trip.

Where do Seattle fishing charters depart from?

Puget Sound salmon trips depart from Shilshole Bay Marina in Seattle. River trips launch from access points on Washington rivers. Offshore halibut and lingcod trips depart from Westport, WA.

What should I bring on a fishing charter?

Bring rain gear and warm layers, sunglasses, a hat, food and drinks, and a valid Washington fishing license. All fishing equipment is provided.

How long are the fishing trips?

Most Puget Sound and river trips run approximately 6-8 hours. Westport offshore trips are typically 8-10 hours.

What fish can I catch on a Seattle fishing charter?

Depending on the season, you may target Chinook (King) salmon, Coho salmon, Pink salmon, steelhead, halibut, lingcod, and rockfish.

When is the best time to go fishing in Seattle?

Summer and early fall (June through September) are prime for Puget Sound salmon. Halibut season runs April through May. Steelhead fishing is available year-round on Washington rivers.

What is the best month for salmon fishing in Puget Sound?

July and August are typically the peak months for Chinook and Coho salmon on Puget Sound. Pink salmon (odd years only) are most abundant in August and September.

Can I keep the fish I catch?

Yes, you can keep fish within the daily limits set by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Your guide will handle cleaning and bagging your catch.

Yes, a valid Washington State fishing license is required for all passengers. Licenses can be purchased at trip time for approximately $10.

Is fishing gear provided?

Yes, all rods, reels, tackle, and bait are provided on every trip. You don't need to bring any fishing equipment.

What should I wear on a fishing charter?

Dress in layers for Pacific Northwest weather. Bring rain gear, warm layers, non-slip shoes, sunglasses, and a hat.

Can I bring food and drinks on the charter?

Yes, please bring your own food, snacks, and drinks. We have cooler storage available.
